Sunday, April 6 — Annual Basket Social
The Annual Basket Social will be held on Sunday, April 6, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Lehigh Township Volunteer Fire Company in Cherryville. There is ample parking. Tickets may be purchased at the door. There will be many baskets, gift cards and items for you to choose. There will also be a Special Value Table for expensive items Tickets will be drawn at 4 p.m. The kitchen will be open - come for lunch. Bring your friends and family! You will be supporting the historical society's work and have fun at the same time!

Sunday, May 4 — Grand Opening Celebration
A grand opening will be held on Sunday, May 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Lehigh Township Historical Centre, Route 248, Pennsville, PA. Help us celebrate by bringing your family and friends to see our newest completed project. There will be light refreshments, tours, door prizes, and a souvenir of the occasion. The society is proud to have you visit our new area.

Second and Fourth Sundays
The regular open house dates will begin on Sunday, May ll, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The LT Historical Centre will be open on May 25, and the second and fourth Sunday of each month up until October, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The historical centre and St. Paul's Schoolhouse will be also be open by appointment. Call 610-767-5989 if you are interested in a tour for a family group or organization to visit either building.

Saturday, May 17 — Take-out Chicken or Pork Dinners
This year, the society will serve chicken or pork dinners, again made by Lorah's Roasters, on May 17, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The dinners will be made in front of the LT Historical Centre and picked-up there. Dinners will be TAKE-OUT ONLY! Dinners consist of chicken, baked potato, roll and cole slaw or pork, baked potato, roll and cole slaw. Along with each dinner, you will receive a piece of cake. Price of each ticket is $10.00. There will also be extra baked goods to purchase if you desire. You may stop in at the historical centre during the May events or see any society member to purchase your ticket.

September 2014 — Annual Mum Sale
The Lehigh Township Historical Society's Annual Mum Sale will again be held in September and there will be a variety of mums to choose from. There will also be baked goods available for purchase. Date and time will be announced at a later date.

Holiday Open House
the historical centre will be open for holiday shoppers. The store area at the historical centre is also open all year round. There are many items on hand for the history buffs on your list. There are maps, books, Christmas ornaments, shirts, and much more. See the price list At The Shoppe.

Continuing
Over the years, information concerning family genealogy and other information has been donated and it is being sorted and filed. Members are presently working to get the archives in order.

Internet and Phone Service
In the near future, the society will have the internet and a phone service installed which will be an asset for the society.

 

As always, remember the Historical Centre and St. Paul’s Schoolhouse are available year round for family, groups, and organizations to visit.
